John Doyly (1906–1993)
Rochfort, Cecil British painter D’Oyly John, who was born in South Africa, is well-known for his vibrantly colored, stylized landscape paintings from all over the world. In his artwork, John employed the palette knife to great effect. During her reign, the Queen Mother purchased several of his paintings for the Royal collection, and his artwork may be found in other prestigious collections across the globe.
