Art Work Online offers all different art works that we feel are good quality and easily resalable.
We have a fair and straightforward commission structure at Art Work Online.
Consignors will pay a commission of 20% on sale amounts below R20,000 and 15% of the amount above R20,000.
Should you be interested in consigning an artwork, please contact the gallery with the following information:
- Name of the artist
- Title of the artwork
- Dimensions of the artwork without the fame and with the frame L x H x W.
- Purchase price of the artwork (if you have it).
- The price you wish to sell the artwork for.
- High res images of the artwork (front, back, side, signature)
* We do not provide a valuations or appraisal service.
** We sell any contemporary artworks by any artists however we concentrate on South African artist and reserve the right to decline to resale art work that we do not feel is suited to our primary market.

All artworks for sale on Art Work Online come with a Valuation for insurance purposes. All artworks are signed by the artist unless stated otherwise.
All credit and debit cards (Mastercard, Visa, American Express etc.) and bank transfer.
Once payment has been processed the artwork is your property and then we will inform you of the delivery times and courier tracking number once the courier and picked up the art work (delivery takes approximately 4 days within South Africa).
If it is an international delivery, we will take it to the post office and then send you the tracking number when posted to your address.
Absolutely yes. We at Art Work Online organises and insures the transport of the artwork at our costs (except international buyer). Once your purchase has taken place there are no other hidden cost and you have nothing more to worry about except wait with great anticipation for the arrival of your purchase.
Contact us as soon as you notice the damage. Take photos to show us the current state of the artwork and we will make a decision together and then we will contact the insurance based on our decision.
Every order is individually handled by our team to ensure that your new art arrives with you promptly and safely. Art Work Online will couriers your painting to your door free of charge within 3-4 working days when delivering in South Africa. We use the Courier Guy which gives a trusted and reliable service so we can ensure that your artwork arrives to you safe and sound.
When delivering outside of South Africa by using the South African Postal Services and the buy will need to pay for the transport costs and make sure that they insurance the art at their cost.
The work will be suitably packaged to afford maximum protection while in transit and we recommend that all items are insured against loss or damage during shipping. You need to make sure of this before shipment.
Please be aware that any sales tax, value-added tax, tariffs, or other customs fees associated with imported or exported art are not within our control and will be the responsibility of the purchaser if they are from outside of South Africa.

Art Work Online offers clients that want to divest their artwork from their personal collection a listing.
If you are an artist or gallery and would like to be listed on Art Work Online please apply by visiting our Listing Information for Artists and Galleries page.
All serious, professional artists who are based in or originally from South Africa, as well as all art galleries who support South African art, are eligible to list on the website for free.
As an artist, you are in complete control of how and where to post your work, as well as how and what you tell the world about yourself and what drives and inspires you. Every artist has the chance to have a free feature on the main page.
Galleries are fully in charge of uploading the artwork of artists, giving a brief history of the gallery, and determining the price of every piece of art that is featured under the gallery.
None of the listed services on the website are subject to fees from us but is totally fee however we have a fair and straightforward commission structure at Art Work Online.

You will receive the following benefits as an artist or gallery:
- A complimentary profile that includes a photo and personal details.
- An infinite number of free listings for your available artwork.
- Your own homepage at https://www.artworkonline.co.za/home/<Your name>
- Your own personal email address <Your.Name>@artworkonline.co.za that you choose.
- The home page of the website features a list of new works.
- Whenever you upload new work, notifications are delivered to customers who have selected you as one of their favourite artists.
- Complete help and support for managing your listings and getting the most out of the website.
Should you, as an ARTIST, like to submit an application to be featured on our website, kindly:
- Create an email and put “Artist Application” in the subject line.
- Create digital copies of three of your best pieces, then attach them to this email.
- Put your name, address and phone number(s) in the email body.
- Send the email to Artist.Applications@artworkonline.co.za
Should you as a GALLERY want to listed on the website please apply as follows:
- Create an email and put “Gallery Application” in the subject line.
- Add the gallery name, address, phone number(s) and contact name to the email body.
- Send the email to Gallery.Applications@artworkonline.co.za with your application.
If your application is accepted, we will typically notify you within 24 hours. If so, you can then set up you art work on the site within hours.
We provide a seven-day return and refund policy on condition that the art work is in its original packaging and in its original condition that you receive the work. We are unable to provide you with a refund or exchange if seven days have gone since your purchase.
We will need a receipt and proof of purchase in order to process your return.
If, after receiving your order, you’re not happy with what you bought, please contact our customer support staff within 7 days, and we’ll be happy to pick it up at your expense and provide a refund.
We impose an administration fee of 10% on returned orders because of the administrative time and costs.
This Contract’s cancellation and refund policies do not apply to personalized works or works created per your specifications (commissioned artwork).
We will email you to let you know when we have received your returned item after it has been received and inspected. We will also let you know if your refund is approved or denied.
Within a predetermined number of days, if you are return is accepted, your refund will be processed and a credit will be automatically credited to your credit card or original payment method.
First, make sure you have received your return by checking your bank account once more.
Next, get in touch with your credit card provider; it can take some time for the refund to appear on your account.

In case your refund hasn’t arrived despite following all the procedures, kindly contact us via email at sales@artworkonline.co.za or via phone at 076 608 1091.
Please not that you can only get a refund on standard priced items and there are no refunds on sale items.
If there is a defective or broken items then you will need to contact our insurance and couriers. Please note that we cannot do exchanges or place the items as everything on the site is one of a kind. If you would like a refund, please email us at sales@artworkonline.co.za to ensure that you are able to get a refund.
