What conditions must I meet as an artist in order to display my artwork on ArtWorkOnline.co.za?
You must be a South African artist and have a cell phone that can take good-quality photos of your artwork.

It’s easy to apply for ArtWorkOnline.co.za representation. Fill out the preliminary application form and send it along with five digital photographs of your artwork for evaluation, to applications@artworkonline.co.za. After reviewing your work, we’ll let you know our decision within 5 days.
Does displaying my art for sale at ArtWorkOnline.co.za come with a price?
No there’s no cost involved in displaying your artwork however we do take a small commission on all artwork that is sold through our website. Our commission pays for our PR campaigns, promotional efforts, website construction and hosting, administration, and cost of sale. This is a crucial component of your promotion and getting you well-known.
- We take 20% on any sale amounts below R20,000 and 15% on amounts above R20,000.
What is the cost of my artwork?
You decide on the sale price and not us.
How will I know when my artwork is sold? After it’s sold, what should I do?
You will be notified of the sale of your artwork via email and/or phone call after it is sold. Once the artwork has been sold, we will set up a courier to pick it up from you, and we’ll ask you to bundle it up ready for delivery. All you need to do is that! Shipping is not an expense for you to bear.
What kind of art do you display?
Applications for both two- and three-dimensional media are welcome at ArtWorkOnline.co.za.
Does my artwork need to be signed?
Most certainly every work of art needs to be signed by you and it is crucial for establishing your authorship or creatorship.
After my artwork is sold, who will possess the rights to it?
After your artwork is sold, the rights to it remain with you.
Is it okay for me to sell the same photo more than once?
Indeed on condition, it is a Limited Edition and stated so in writing. Once the painting is matted and framed, each copy needs to have its signature and number visible.
Is it possible for me to have other gallery representation if I display my work at ArtWorkOnline.co.za?
Yes, that is no problem. All that ArtWorkOnline.co.za requests is the sole right to commercialize the artwork that is featured on our website. By doing this, the possibility of selling the same work of art to two distinct buyers is reduced.

When my artwork is sold, how do I get paid?
In order to settle the sale of your artwork, we will EFT money into your bank account. We don’t send money until eight or fourteen days after the purchaser receives the artwork. This is because we wait seven days to ensure that your buyer won’t return it under our seven-day money-back promise.
After ArtWorkOnline.co.za accepts my application, how can I submit my artwork?
You can use Dropbox or WeTransfer to email us your artwork. The image must be at least 1500 pixels wide at a minimum of 150dpi, in focus, and faithful to the original artwork’s color scheme.
