Roos, Nicolaas (20th Century)
Nicolaas is an expressionist abstract oil painter from South Africa. Lyrical, atmospheric, and slightly otherworldly but peaceful are some ways to characterize his work. His motivation comes from my experimentation with various media types as well as the various ideas found in Eastern philosophy. Nicolaas creates powerful, striking, and audacious images that are influenced by the depths and intensity of our enormous oceans.
