1959 saw Paul’s birth in Cape Town. After enrolling at Thornton High, he pursued a degree in commercial painting. Paul’s father, Gordon Munro, taught him how to paint and draw when he was very little. When he was still in school, Cape Town art galleries exhibited and sold his works. Paul spends extended periods of time away from society, studying the rhythmic patterns of the surrounding landscapes. He has cultivated a strong emotional bond with the natural world and the ability to communicate these feelings. He once said, “You have to climb a mountain before you can paint it.” Paul has valued this commitment to genuine honesty throughout his career.
