Wilhelm Ploner was born in Vienna, Austria in 1941, and attended the Kunsthochschule in Vienna, Austria, at the age of eighteen, to study fine art. He began painting professionally in oil and acrylic after moving to South Africa in 1968. He is regarded as one of the world’s most versatile artists, capable of painting anything from abstract to realistic subjects with a genuine talent for capturing their essence in landscapes and portraits.
